The Seneca Lake Wine Trail

by

712504_wine.jpgIf you are looking for a delightful wine tour, the Seneca Lake Wine Trail is an excellent place. The trail follows wineries around Seneca Lake, in Central New York’s Fingerlakes Region. The climate is good for grapes that yield flavorful wines ranging from delicate to hardy . Various wineries surrounding Seneca Lake are part of the wine trail, and this means that you can move from winery to winery, enjoying beautiful scenery. Some wineries are close enough together that you can bike between them. Additionally, there are several quaint bed and breakfasts along the way that add charm and a good night’s sleep.

The Seneca Lake Wine Trail offers a variety of activities. For this month, February, the theme is Chocolate and Wine, and next month’s theme is Cruisin’ the Tropics, with the wineries offering their own themes. It is important to note that these special Seneca Lake Wine Trail events require that you pay for tickets (special pricing for designated drivers), and assign a starting winery to help with traffic flow.
